Low-cost carrier Ryanair announced on Thursday a new route from Athens to London's Luton airport, which will be part of the company's winter 2018 schedule with three flights per week.

Ryanair reached an agreement with the trade union representing its Irish pilots on Aug. 23, a breakthrough that sent its shares sharply higher as the budget airline strives to quell staff protests around Europe.

DUBLIN (Reuters) - Ryanair (RYA.I) warned cabin crew and pilots that some of them could lose their jobs if a series of strikes continue but said it was on course to hit its annual profit target despite the disruption.

The low-cost European airline is struggling to reach an agreement with its crew as industrial unrest keeps escalating. Due to the next strike planned by Ryanair's cabin crews in Spain, Belgium and Portugal for July 25 and 26, the low-cost airline has cancelled about 600 flights across Europe on those dates. 

The acquisition by Romania's national air carrier TAROM of five Boeing 737-MAX 8 aircraft is part of a wider contract that also provides for the commencement of procedures for the Technical Division of TAROM to become an official Boeing partner, the Transport Ministry said Monday in a press statement.
