Bulgaria's caretaker Minister of Health Dr. Stoycho Katsarov came out with a statement commenting on the events of the last few days.

With regard to the former director of the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, Prof. Todor Kantardzhiev he said there is "nothing extraordinary or heroic" about an official who retires reaching retirement age.

Caretaker Health Minister Stoycho Katsarov has replaced all members of the Boards of Directors of the state-owned Lozenetz Hospital and Alexandrovska University Hospital in Sofia, pending the conduct of competitions, Katsarov's Ministry said in a press release on Friday.

The management of Lozenets University Hospital (aka former Governmental Hospital)will be replaced because of multiple abuses, revealed caretaker Minister of Health Dr. Stoycho Katsarov at a briefing at the Council of Ministers. He pointed out that the health institution had "syphoned off the National Health Insurance Fund and performed illegal transplantations.

There are already 25 beaches on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, which offer the use of free umbrellas and sunbeds for the active summer season of 2020, the Ministry of Tourism announced. 

Teams of the Sofia Inspectorate are carrying out inspections of sources of air pollution with particulate matter from construction sites, auto repair shops, tyre fitting centres, waste-buying sites, furniture manufacturers, as well as outdoor waste burning, said the Sofia Municipality press office.

8 new kindergartens are being built in Sofia, 5 of which will accommodate children by the end of this year and the remaining 3 by next year. This was announced by the mayor of the capital Yordanka Fandakova, who today checked the construction of a new kindergarten in the "Krustova Vada" neighbourhood, Lozenets district.

The deadline for submission of bids in the tender for cleaning companies in Sofia, announced by the municipality, expires.

The value of the public procurement is BGN 436 million and the term is 5 years.

The police have cordoned off an area in Lozenets, following a report of an object that resembled an artillery shell, Sofia Police Directorate told Focus News Agency.

The construction of the ''Golden Age'' building in Lozenets will continue.

This was announced in a letter to the media from Artex. They indicate that as a result of the work stoppage, they suffered losses of BGN 1.8 million. According to the company, the court confirmed that the building permit was valid.
