Bulgaria and North Macedonia Jointly Mark 150th Anniversary of Gotse Delchev's Birth

Representatives of the governments of Bulgaria and North Macedonia laid wreaths at the grave of Gotse Delchev in the courtyard of the Church of the Holy Savior in Skopje, as part of the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of his birth.

North Macedonia’s PM and Foreign Minister will Not Celebrate Gotse Delchev with the Bulgarian Delegation

The Prime Minister of North Macedonia Dimitar Kovachevski and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country Bujar Osmani will not attend tomorrow's celebration of the anniversary of Gotse Delchev's birth, which was to be held in Skopje together with the Bulgarian delegation led by Bulgarian Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska.

The worship will be at the Holy Savior Church in Skopje.

North Macedonia’s Blockade on Book Donation Riles Bulgaria

North Macedonia has defended its decision to stop a shipment of 920 copies of a Bulgarian book intended for a Bulgarian cultural centre in Skopje, after Bulgaria on Sunday sent a protest note. The books were not allowed across the Deve Bair border crossing between the two countries at the weekend.

This is the stand of the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry occasioned by the increasingly frequent incidents of hate speech and discrimination in North Macedonia targeting citizens who dare declaring Bulgarian self-consciousness or even sympathy for Bulgaria and its people.

Bulgaria Celebrates National Liberation Day - 143 Years

Bulgaria celebrates on March 3rd its National Holiday, marking the 143rd anniversary of its liberation from five centuries of Ottoman rule.

Liberation Day will be marked with a number of events throughout the country. The culmination is the ceremonial fireworks display on the National Assembly Square in Sofia.
