University closed for second day as heating system collapses
The University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, had to remain closed for a second day on Tuesday due to a malfunction of the central heating system.
Authorities at the university said efforts were being made to repair the heating system, which collapsed on Monday morning as it struggled to cope with unusually low temperatures.
Gruevski Invited to Form Macedonian Govt
Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov on Monday entrusted Nikola Gruevski with a fresh mandate to form a new government after his VMRO DPMNE party narrowly won the December 11 elections.
He has 20 days to secure a majority of 61 in the 120-seat parliament and present a new team to parliament, or return the mandate.

Representatives of Macedonia's ethnic Albanian parties on Saturday in Skopje signed a joint declaration that will serve as a platform for their furture participation in any government that is formed following the December 11 general election.

Macedonia Gives Mute Response to Serbian FM's Name Comments
Macedonia's Foreign Ministry is cautious in its response to comments by Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, who earlier this week said Belgrade made a mistake when it recognized Macedonia under that name.
The Serbian top diplomat then explained the name FYROM would be used multilaterally and that using the name "Macedonia' harmed Serbia's "Greek brothers".

Serbia's Foreign Minister said Monday his country "made a big mistake" when recognizing the Republic of Macedonia under its constitutional name.
Belgrade will continue to use the name bilaterally, but will switch to "FYROM" on a multirateral basis, the name used by the EU and the UN, the official added.

Meet Usko, the bear on wheels
Usko arrived at Arcturos in July 2015. He was only 3 months old. He had been discovered by members of an environmental organization based in Skopje, in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), suffering from severe spinal injuries. He couldn't stand up and was clearly in a lot of pain.
