Turkey, Malaysia sign 15 pacts on science, defense

Turkish and Malaysian officials signed 15 agreements in various fields in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur on Dec. 18 in the presence of both countries' leaders.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad at his official residence to witness the signing of 15 goodwill agreements on science, technology, and defense.

Southeast Asian countries must be united in the face of a trade war launched by US President Donald Trump, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said today at a high-level regional business forum, Reuters reported.

The meeting, not far from the Thai capital, is a co-event at the Southeast Asian Nations Association (ASEAN) summit, against the backdrop of tense US-China relations.
