Photographing the last of the Holocaust survivors

NEW YORK - Rabbi Aliza Erber, 80, stood at the edge of a pier in lower Manhattan and told those around her to draw closer - and to look out toward the Brooklyn Bridge.

A few seconds later, there it was: a portrait of her face projected onto the bridge, against the backdrop of the Brooklyn skyline, along with her own words. "It was not okay then, it's not okay now."

Alec Baldwin to interview Woody Allen on Instagram live

Actor Alec Baldwin announced on June 27 he will chat live on Instagram with disgraced comedian and movie director Woody Allen.

"I have zero interest in anyone's judgments and sanctimonious posts here," said Baldwin, himself at the center of a scandal after a cinematographer was shot dead last year on a film set by a gun Baldwin was holding.

Suspicious package left in front of Türkevi Center in ??New York

Police have closed the street in front of the Türkevi Center in Manhattan to all traffic after a suspicious package was discovered in front of the building on Oct. 22.

Bomb disposal teams were sent to the scene along First Avenue between 45th and 46th streets. The package with red roses was found in front of the Türkevi Center building.

Broadway shutdown extended

The shutdown on Broadway has been extended again — until at least early September.

Although an exact date for performances to resume has yet to be determined, Broadway producers are now offering refunds and exchanges for tickets purchased for shows through Sept. 6.

Google to Invest $1 Billion in new New York Campus

Google's parent company Alphabet on Monday said it was investing more than $1 billion to set up a new campus in New York City, reports AFP. 

In a blog post, Alphabet and Google CFO Ruth Porat said it would lease large office buildings in Manhattan's West Village neighbourhood which will become the centerpiece of a campus of more than 1.7 million square-feet (160,000 square metres).
