Gendarmerie units keep watch on endangered birds
Within the scope of the efforts to protect wildlife in the eastern province of Van's lake basins, gendarmerie units are keeping a close watch on endangered white-headed ducks by patrolling the region 24/7.
Lake Erçek, located near Lake Van, hosts thousands of birds every year. One of the rarest birds of the region, white-headed ducks, also live around this area.

This has been especially true for northeastern Bulgaria, where the late winter hit the hardest.
Safet Khalid from the Village of Zaritsa Sheltered 5 Storks
Safet Khalid of the Silistra village of Zaritsa saved five storks last night from frost. Khalid released late last night on Facebook a photo of the birds he hosted at his home. He found them half stiff and with the help of friends he brought them to his home.
Today, Nezabravka Kirova-Hristova from the same village published a photo of Safet and the storks surviving in his home.
