Not another Mykonos

In the bruised face of archaeologist Manolis Psarros, who was beaten by unidentified men in northern Athens a few weeks ago, we saw the Mykonos of gangs, thugs, rackets and dirty money. This is an early and rather superficial interpretation of the case.

Mykonos: Archaeologist threatened in abusive text message

The Association of Greek Archaeologists has said that one of its members who works on Mykonos received a threatening message with abusive content.

The archaeologist reported the threat, which came in the form of a text message from an unknown number, to a prosecutor that deals with extortion and to the police.

Music for Poetry Day | Athens | March 21

Christos Pappas of the now defunct far-right Golden Dawn party was no run of the mill cadre of former party leader Nikos Michaloliakos.

He was the self-styled "theoretician" of the group. Even "his own" people referred to him as [top Nazi Hermann] Goering and his parliamentary presence was marked by his outrageous audacity.

Greek flag at half mast in honor of Glezos

The Greek flag on the Acropolis is flying at half mast in honor of World War II resistance hero Manolis Glezos who is to be buried Wednesday.
In a post on social media Tuesday, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said the gesture was a tribute to a "great Greek."

Glezos died of heart failure at a central Athens hospital Monday. He was 97.
