Minos EMI/Universal is releasing a double CD album in 249 countries of previously unpublished Greek songs recorded by the legendary Nana Mouskouri from the mid-1950s and the early 1960s at the National Radio Foundation.

Force behind Greek music powerhouse Columbia records dies, aged 91
Record producer Takis Lambropoulos, credited with revolutionizing the Greek music industry in the 1960s and 70s from the helm of the Columbia Gramophone Company Greece, has died at the age of 91, it was announced on Friday.

Accompanied by singers Alkinoos Ioannidis and Dimitra Selemidou, the Greek National Opera orchestra and choir present Manos Hadjidakis's emblematic "Gioconda's Smile" and "Magnus Eroticus" song cycles in a tribute to the celebrated Greek composer at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) on September 28, 29 and 30. Respected poet, songwriter Manos Eleftheriou dies at age 80
Manos Eleftheriou, a respected Greek writer of poetry, short stories novels and songs, died of a heart attack in the early hours of Sunday, after suffering from various health problems. He was 80 years old.
Paper Moon | Rethymno | To September 15
The song "Hartino to Feggaraki" (The Paper Moon) was written in 1949 by composer Manos Hadjidakis and poet/lyricist Nikos Gatsos for a stage production of "A Streetcar Named Desire." The Contemporary Art Museum of Crete has put together an exhibition of works by Greek and foreign artists that is inspired by the title and significance of the song's lyrics, about a delusionary world.
