Kranjec 3rd in Alpine Ski World Cup season opener in Sölden
Innsbruck – Slovenia’s Žan Kranjec finished 3rd as the men’s giant slalom on the Rettenbach glacier above Sölden, Austria opened the Alpine Ski World Cup season on Sunday. The race was won by Marco Odermatt of Switzerland, and Austria’s Roland Leitinger finished second.

Kranjska Gora – This weekend, the Alpine town of Kranjska Gora will be the penultimate destination of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup for this season. Top male skiers will compete on the Vitranc hill in giant slalom on Saturday and slalom on Sunday.

Kranjec third in Andorra, ends giant slalom season fourth overall
French Alexis Pintarault was first and Swiss Marco Odermatt was in second place (+0.44s). Kranjec crossed the finish line 1.03 second slower than Pintarault.
He was close to the top of the overall giant slalom standings throughout the season, arriving in Andorra as number six.
