Italian PM pays first visit to Türkiye, meets Erdoğan

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni paid her first visit to Türkiye on Jan. 20, engaging in discussions with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at Istanbul's Vahdettin Mansion.

The closed-door meeting marks the third in-person meeting between Meloni and Erdoğan, following their encounters at the NATO summit in Vilnius last July and the U.N. General Assembly in New York in September.

Erdoğan, Draghi meet in Ankara, discuss ties

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi met in Ankara for the third intergovernmental summit. The summit was organized 10 years after the second intergovernmental meeting held in Rome.

Turkish and Italian leaders met to hold their third intergovernmental summit and to sign new agreements to boost bilateral cooperation.

Biden left the summit

Biden was supposed to speak today at the final session of the G7 leaders' meeting in the German castle of Elmau, in the Bavarian Alps, before he flew to Munich by helicopter, and from there it was planned to take a presidential plane to Madrid for the NATO Summit.
