Victims of post-war executions commemorated in Teharje
Teharje – An estimated 5,000 victims of war and post-war summary executions were commemorated at a memorial mass in Teharje on Sunday. More than 600 unmarked killing sites across Slovenia bear witness to these atrocities, said retired Celje Bishop Stanislav Lipovšek at the annual ceremony.

Bosnia Marks Srebrenica Genocide Anniversary as More Victims Buried
Prayers were said and mourners shed tears as 33 more victims Srebrenica massacres - defined as genocide by international courts - were laid to rest at a ceremony at the Potocari Memorial Centre during the annual commemoration on Thursday.
Dutch UN soldiers sue Dutch Government over Srebrenica; "Sent to impossible mission"
In a filed lawsuit, the soldiers demand honor restoration, an apology and payment of symbolic damages, Dutch daily AD (The Algemeen Dagblad) reports.
Veterans' attorney Michael Rupert stated that Dutch soldiers were sent to "an impossible mission" and just left there, without appropriate preparation, without sufficient materials and capacity", Rupert concluded.
‘World’s Biggest Detention Camp’: Srebrenica Before the Genocide
Emir Suljagic fell "hopelessly in love" with his first-ever girlfriend in the summer of 1992, when the place in which he lived at the time - Srebrenica - was under siege.
"I used to walk from Srebrenica to [the nearby village of] Potocari every second day to see her and spend some time with her. I did not mind going back at midnight or 1am during the war," he recalled.

On July 11, on the 24th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, Nura Begovic will bury the only part of her brother Adil Suljic's body that has been found so far, 24 years after he was killed.
"Of his body, only one hand has been found," Begovic said.
