The government is working on new proposals to curb the spread of violent and harmful content on social media, particularly targeting the growing issue of juvenile delinquency. Seeking to improve the services provided by and the citizen's experience with the National Health System (ESY), the Health Ministry presented its plan of action for the coming months.

The drop in waiting times for surgeries dominated Tuesday's meeting convened at the Maximos Mansion by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Health Minister Adonis Georgiaidis on the National Health System (ESY).

Kathimerini has learned that a plan is in the works to deal with waiting times at duty hospitals which can currently reach up to eight hours.

With the government starting the process of codifying the Prime Minister’s announcements from the podium of the Thessaloniki International Fair last Saturday, the Maximos Mansion has decided not to waste any time and to “throw themselves” into the daily battles.

At the Maximos Mansion, preparations are in full swing for TIF. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is finalizing his speech, aiming to mark the start of the political season and set a foundation for a three-year plan leading up to the 2027 elections.

The large fire front in Attica, which began in Varnavas and spread to many other areas, has put the government on high alert as they face yet another extremely challenging situation this summer.
