Members of 3 religions gather around ‘Unity Table’

As the feats and fasts of the three religions have coincided in the same month for the first time in the last 36 years, Muslims, Christians and Jews have come together for the "Unity and Brotherhood Table" in the southern quake-hit province of Hatay, the city of civilizations and cultures for centuries.

Bosnian Aid Organisation Prepares Thousands of Ramadan Meals for Believers

The meals are intended for "Iftar" suppers, eaten at the end of the day-long fast in Ramadan, when Muslims abstain from food and water from sunrise until sundown for one month. 

"The meals are intended for Iftar, but will be provided for [all] people, no matter their religious or national identity," Saliha Roksa, spokeswoman of Pomozi.ba, told BIRN. 

NGO proposes free school meals

Ljubljana – The NGO 8 March Institute has tabled two bills to introduce free meals for all children in primary school. Free lunch should be part of a free school concept, the NGO said, hopeful that it could start collecting signatures in support of the proposal in September.

Facing a growing number of COVID-19 cases and fatalities, Turkey will continue to impose partial restrictions to stem the virus's spread, the president said on March 20.

The nationwide curfew from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. will continue, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said after a three-hour-plus cabinet meeting at the presidential complex.
