Ramsay Hunt syndrome (RHS), which has forced singer Justin Bieber to cancel his world tour, is a rare and painful complication of the virus that causes shingles and chickenpox.
RHS was discovered in 1907 by the neurologist of the same name. It is a rare neurological disorder that can inflame and then paralyze the facial nerve and cause a painful rash around the ear or mouth.

EU keeps the COVID Travel Certificate for another Year
The European digital COVID certificate will be used for another year to travel from one country to another. The European Parliament and member states agreed on this late Monday.
Legislation to introduce the document was due to expire on June 30, but due to the ongoing pandemic, it was proposed to extend it until June 30, 2023, said the French presidency of the Council of the EU.
No Covid-19 deaths since Friday
Ljubljana – A total of 209 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Slovenia over the weekend, a 30% increase over the weekend before. Since Friday no patient with Covid-19 has died, according to the Health Ministry.

Covid figures remain modest
Ljubljana – Slovenia recorded 290 new coronavirus cases for Thursday, down 42 on Wednesday and 25 more than a week ago, show data by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ). One person infected with the virus died. According to the Health Ministry, 24 people were in hospital on Thursday due to Covid-19, three of which in intensive care.

Covid case count up to almost 460
Ljubljana – As many as 458 new coronavirus cases were logged in Slovenia on Monday, a weekly rise of 78, while there were no deaths, the data released by the Health Ministry shows. The number of persons hospitalised due to Covid-19 dropped by 5 to 21 from Sunday to Monday, and another four persons were in intensive care, the same as on Sunday.

Tests negative, no monkeypox cases in Turkey: Minister
Turkey has no monkeypox virus cases as the latest tests on four suspected patients have emerged negative, the country's health minister has said.
"Tests have been made on four patients suspected to be infected with monkeypox in Istanbul. All are negative," Fahrettin Koca tweeted late on June 4.
More than 700 monkeypox cases globally, 21 in US: CDC
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said on June 3 it was aware of more than 700 global cases of monkeypox, including 21 in the United States, with investigations now suggesting it is spreading inside the country.
