Stanford Club of Greece hosts Dr. John Ioannidis in webinar on Covid-19

The Stanford Club of Greece is organizing on June 22 τhe second webinar of the virtual speaker series titled "Deconstructing Covid-19, Re-Constructing the Economy".

The invited speaker will be Dr. John P.A. Ioannidis from Stanford School of Medicine and the title of his presentation is "COVID-19: high risks, high prevalence, high-level evidence, and high-stake decisions".

"There are fewer infected people and less risk of infection. But there is still that possibility. There are people who are virus carriers without even knowing it. Therefore, our emphasis will be on testing to reach these asymptomatic people," Tiodorovic said.

COVID-19 patients in Turkey to be treated free of charge

All COVID-19 citizens will be treated free of charge regardless of whether they have social security, according to a decision published in the Official Gazette.

With the decision, there will be no fees for personal protective equipment, tests used in the detection of the disease, kits, equipment and medicines.

One new Covid-19 death, 99 in total

One more person died in the past 24 hours from Covid-19 in Greece, with the total number of fatalities standing at 99.

Sotiris Tsiodras, the Health Ministry's spokesman and infectious disease expert, said in his daily press briefing that 31 new cases were recorded in the country putting the new sum at 2,145, of which 56 pct are men.

Five healthcare workers of Matei Bals Institute get infected with novel coronavirus

Five healthcare professionals of the Bucharest-based Matei Bals Institute of Infectious Diseases got infected with the novel coronavirus, the manager of the healthcare facility, Adrian Streinu-Cercel, told AGERPRES on Thursday. According to him, it is about two doctors, a nurse, a biochemist and an assistive worker. Of the five, one doctor is symptomatic.
