Turkish cuisine exhibition opens at Presidential Complex

First lady Emine Erdoğan has inaugurated an exhibition at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, highlighting Aegean cuisine as part of the third edition of Turkish Cuisine Week festivities.

All 81 provinces of Türkiye, along with its overseas representations, are hosting a week-long series of programs spotlighting the unique dishes and local ingredients of Turkish gastronomy.

Leaders in retail price hikes

Food and mainly olive oil, flour, meat, cheese, fruit, vegetables, potatoes, as well as apparel, ferry tickets and health insurance premiums have emerged among the "champions" of price increases in Greece in the period 2019-2024. These are goods and services whose prices not only increased a lot, even more than 120% during the period under review, but also more than the European average.

The announcement marks the beginning of a three-month objection before the product's official recognition.

German president in Istanbul on first leg of 3-day Türkiye visit

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier on April 22 arrived in Istanbul as he embarked on a three-day tour to Türkiye, marking his first visit to the country in his seven-year duty as the head of the state.

Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, German Ambassador to Ankara Jürgen Schulz and Turkish Ambassador to Berlin Ahmet Başar Şen welcomed Steinmeier at Istanbul Airport.
