Gov't to seal collective bargaining deal with 200,000 public workers on July 3: Minister

The government has agreed on labor conditions with nearly 200,000 public workers and a respective collective bargaining deal will be signed on July 3 in an ceremony with the attendance of Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, Labor and Social Security Minister Mehmet Müezzinoğlu said late on July 1.  

101,650 underage workers working in Turkey: Minister

There are a total of 101,659 people under the age of 18 working across Turkey, Labor and Social Security Minister Mehmet Müezzinoğlu has said. 

Müezzinoğlu's remarks came after Ömer Fethi Güler, main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) lawmaker from the Central Anatolian province of Niğde, asked questions about child labor. 

357,000 new jobs created in Turkey in 2017: Minister

Some 357,000 new jobs were created between Jan. 1 and March 20 in Turkey, said a top official, adding that the rising unemployment rate would decrease by May or June. 

"By the yearend, the unemployment will drop to single digits," said Labor Minister Mehmet Müezzinoğlu in a televised interview on Kanal 24, as reported by Reuters on March 21.
