Plan for new Thessaloniki forest unveiled
A Thessaloniki businessman has unveiled plans to plant a new forest in a northern suburb of the city.
Under the plans, presented by Stavros Andreadis to the mayor of Pavlos Melas, Dimitris Aslanidis, 300,000 trees will be planted on site of 300 hectares in the Efkarpia district.

MP quits Independent Greeks following differences on presidential vote
Independent Greeks MP Panayiotis Melas announced his departure from the party on Monday.
Melas has been in dispute with Independent Greeks chief Panos Kammenos over the past few days after refusing to adopt the partys line on the presidential vote.
The lawmaker refused to commit to opposing any candidate put forward by the government for the February vote in Parliament.
