The Gulf countries imposing blockades on Qatar are the biggest losers in the recent crisis in terms of trade, Qatar's Economy Minister Jassim al-Thani has said, noting that the impact of the crisis on the Qatari economy was very small. 

Qatari Defense Minister Khalid bin Mohammed al-Attiyah has conditioned the lifting of a blockage imposed on his country by four Arab states before engaging in any dialogue with its neighbors.

"Lifting the siege should precede any dialogue," al-Attiyah said in an interview with Russia Today, excerpts of which was published by Qatar's official news agency on July 25.

Turkey has welcomed the removal of a demand to shut down the Turkish base in Qatar from a list of demands imposed by Saudi Arabia and four other countries on the gas-rich country, calling it a positive move. 

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on July 17 that he hopes Yemen's war will not spark direct confrontation between Iran and Saudi Arabia and that they can work together to end the conflict in the country and Syria. 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is set to embark on a tour to three Gulf countries, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, on July 23 and 24. 

The United Arab Emirates warned Qatar on July 17 that it could not belong to the Gulf Cooperation Council if it undermined regional security, calling for a "change of behavior" but not "regime change."

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) was behind a series of hacks that sparked regional discord and isolated Qatar from its neighbors, according to a media report Sunday, quoted by Anadolu Agency. 

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian held talks with top officials in Kuwait on July 16 in a bid to bolster the emirate's attempts to mediate in the Gulf crisis.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said he is planning to embark on a tour of the Arab Gulf in a bid to ease dialogue between Qatar and Saudi Arabia-led states, after the former rejected implementation of the 13-article conditions imposed by its neighbors amid rising tension.
