Serbia Ready to Follow Suit if Others on Balkan Migrant Route Close Borders

If some countries on the so-called Balkan route close their borders to asylum seekers, Serbia will have to do the same on its border with Macedonia, Serbia's Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has said.

"Those people will not be able to be stationed here," Serbian broadcaster b92 quoted Dacic as saying after a meeting with his Austrian counterpart Sebastian Kurz in Belgrade on Tuesday.

Greece agrees on NATO migration patrols in Aegean Sea

There is no official statement issued by the Ministry of Defense in order to announce the decisions taken at today’s NATO meeting.

However, ANA-MPA news agency citing a government source reported that Greece welcomed  NATO’s involvement in dealing with refugee and migration flows as long as the country’s sovereignty is respected.

Children now make up over a third of the migrants making the perilous sea crossing from Turkey to Greece, the U.N. said.

For the first time since the start of the migrant crisis in Europe, there are also now more women and children crossing the border from Greece to Macedonia than adult males, according to U.N. children's agency UNICEF.

One Serbian PKK sniper killed, another captured in Turkey's southeast

A Serbian sniper of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) was killed while another was captured alive, daily Vatan has reported, while claiming at least five other hit men are currently operating in southeastern Turkey. 

Reports indicate that a sniper of Serbian nationality was captured dead during an operation in southeastern ??rnak's Cizre province on Jan. 29.
