FT: Tsipras hoping to join China's '16+1' group
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is expected to participate in a two-day meeting between China and 16 eastern European countries which will begin in Dubrovnik on Thursday, in the hopes of joining the so-called "16+1" group of states with closer relations to Beijing, the Financial Times reported on Thursday.

Fake news drives migrants to northern Greece
Riot police officers were dispatched to the Diavata reception center near Thessaloniki Thursday after hundreds of migrants gathered there in response to social media posts urging them to try to push through Greece's border with North Macedonia with a view to crossing a series of closed Balkan borders and reaching prosperous countries in Western Europe.

Greek PM Tsipras arrives in Skopje for 'historic' visit
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras landed in the North Macedonia capital of Skopje on Tuesday for a what is the first visit by a Greek premier to the Balkan nation since its independence in 1991.
Defined as a "historic" occasion by his office, Tsipras's visit is expected to bolster ties between the two neighbors who recently resolved a decades-old name dispute.
Tsipras due in Skopje Tuesday with some 120 Greek entrepreneurs
More than 120 Greek entrepreneurs are to join Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on his landmark visit to Skopje on Tuesday.
"Our target was 70 or 80 entrepreneurs and, to our great surprise, the number has exceeded 120," Giorgos Stergioulis, the president of Enterprise Greece, said.

The Prespes accord is a "model" for solving other regional problems, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said Friday, adding that the name agreement signed between Greece and North Macedonia will bolster stability and economic growth in the Balkan region.
Tsipras to speak in Thessaloniki at business event
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will be in the port city of Thessaloniki on Thursday to participate in a debate with local businesspeople on "The growth potential of businesses in Northern Greece after the Prespes agreement."
The event will be held at the Macedonia Palace at 1 p.m.
