The leaders of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) on Wednesday adopted a declaration calling for an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon.
The declaration came after the 11th Summit of the Heads of State of the OTS, held in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek.

Russian senators ratify North Korean defense pact
Russian lawmakers on Wednesday voted unanimously to ratify a landmark mutual defense pact with North Korea, as Kiev and the West claim Pyongyang sent thousands of troops to fight for Russia against Ukraine.
The agreement formalizes months of deepening security cooperation between the two nations, which were Communist allies throughout the Cold War.

Austria Signals Possible Schengen Progress for Bulgaria and Romania
The Austrian media report that an upcoming meeting between the interior ministers of Bulgaria, Romania, and Austria in Budapest could bring new developments for the Schengen membership of Bulgaria and Romania, BNR reports. Set for November 22 and hosted by Hungary's EU presidency, the meeting was confirmed by Austria's Ministry of the Interior.
Tourist visits in Serbia down by 5.1 pct y-o-y in September
BELGRADE - Serbia registered 5.1 pct fewer tourist visits in September 2024 relative to the same month of last year and the number of overnight stays was down by 12.2 pct y-o-y, according to figures released by the national statistical office.
Overnight stays by Serbian tourists were down by 22.4 pct y-o-y, while those generated by foreign tourists were up by 0.5 pct y-o-y.
Coordination committee to be set up for Development Road Project
The transport ministers of Iraq, Türkiye, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to establish a coordination committee to jointly manage the Development Road Project and have reached an agreement on a memorandum declaration, an official said.
The ministers met in Baghdad on Oct. 31.
EU: Turkey must avoid threats, accession talks stalled
The European Union's annual progress report on Turkey's accession process, presented Wednesday, includes references to Greek-Turkish relations, the migration issue and the Cyprus problem.
