Mezzo-soprano Stella Doufexis dies of cancer, aged 47
Greek-German mezzo soprano Stella Doufexis died, aged 47. Born in Frankfurt, she studied in Berlin at the Hochschüle der Künste with Ingrid Figur as well as working with Anna Reynolds. She also attended masterclasses by Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and Aribert Reimann.
Carmina Burana concert in Antalya
The Antalya State Opera and Ballet (ANTDOB) will perform German composer Carl Orff's popular work "Carmina Burana" on two dates, June 13 and 17, at the Ha?im ??can Culture Center. The orchestra will be conducted by Hakan Kalkan.

Much-debated Carmina Burana performed uncensored
The world-renowned "Carmina Burana" was staged on May 18 without any scene cuts or censorship, following a planned staging in ?zmir on May 2 which was postponed due to "technical reasons," after prominent Turkish pianist and composer Faz?l Say's wrote an article on the piece containing sections about "sex and wine."
