Rain, storms will persist, but won’t be as intense

Rain and, in some parts of the country, snow will persist Friday, but phenomena will be less intense.

In the capital Athens, there could be thunderstorms early in the day in the southern suburbs and rain will fall locally throughout the day, but the capital is not expected to experience major traffic and transport disruptions as it did Thursday.

Snow reaches Serbia: "By the end of the week..."

"On Thursday, January 26, first in southeastern Serbia, and by the end of the day in other parts of Serbia, snow can be expected! A cold Koava wind will blow. The highest daily temperature will be from 0 to 4 degrees Celsius. From Friday, January 27, until Sunday afternoon, January 29, it will be snowing with minor interruptions!

One dead, dozens hurt as gale hits Spain dance music festival

One person died and dozens more were injured early Saturday as powerful winds hit a music festival near the Spanish resort of Valencia, causing the stage to partially collapse, medics said.

The incident occurred shortly after 4:00 am (0200 GMT) at the Medusa Circus of Madness dance music festival on Cullera beach, some 50 kilometers (30 miles) south of Valencia.

Storm in Sofia, Underpasses Flooded

A heavy storm in the capital this morning flooded the underpasses in the center.

Shortly before 9 o'clock the sky darkened and torrential rains began. A yellow code has been announced for Sofia city due to heavy rains and thunderstorms today. The amount of precipitation that is expected to fall is up to 20 liters/sq.m. There are also conditions for hail.
