Nearly 100 people got injured when two metrobuses experienced a head-on collision as one of the drivers fainted, with two more metrobuses slamming into them from behind as drivers lost control of their steering wheels, according to city officials.

In an effort to improve the traffic problem and lower the accident rate in Turkey's most populated province of Istanbul, the traffic division of the provincial security directorate conducted research and found 10 blind spots where the rate of accidents is considerably higher.

The high number of metrobus accidents happening across Istanbul has been raising concerns, with more than 60 injuries taking place in the past six months.

A total of 24 people were injured on Dec. 3 when two metrobuses crashed into each other in the Sefaköy neighborhood in Istanbul, Doğan News Agency reported.

A total of 19 people were injured on Dec. 3 when two metrobuses crashed on the Beylikdüzü-Zincirlikuyu line in Istanbul, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Seven people were injured in an accident after a shuttle minibus lost control and crashed into a metrobus in the Küçükçekmece district of Istanbul on Feb. 5. 

The accident occurred at 8:30 a.m. near a metrobus station in Küçükçekmece.

A meticulous police operation resulted in the apprehension of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militant who attacked a famous nightclub at the heart of Istanbul in the early hours of the new year. 

The temporary closure of a metrobus stop in Istanbul's Zeytinburnu district led to chaotic congestion at the nearby Merter metrobus stop during the rush hours on Nov. 8. 

The human congestion forced some to queue for up to 20 minutes just to reach an overpass at the Merter stop, while others said it took them around 45 minutes to cross the overpass.

An Istanbul court on Sept. 24 ordered the arrest of a man who attacked a metrobus driver with an umbrella, causing an accident which injured eleven.

The passenger, identified as Murat Akbulut, had been referred to court for arrest on charges of malicious wounding, damaging public property.

Eleven people were injured in a metrobus accident in the Acıbadem neighborhood of Istanbul on Sept. 23 after a passenger hit the driver with an umbrella during a quarrel.

According to witnesses, the passenger got into an argument with the driver Recai Türkoğlu over the opening of the doors at the Acıbadem stop, heading in the direction of the Kadıköy district, at around 8.30 a.m.
