Erdoğan to meet Putin in Astana: Turkish official

Türkiye on Oct. 11 called for a ceasefire in Ukraine ahead of a meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in the Kazakh capital Astana.

"A ceasefire must be established as soon as possible. The sooner the better," Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said in an interview with the TVnet broadcaster.

Çavuşoğlu to represent Türkiye in Queen’s funeral

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has announced that he will be representing his country at the funeral of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II on Sept. 19.

"I will visit the U.K. capital, London, on Monday and participate [in the funeral of the Queen] as a representative of Türkiye," he said on Sept. 14.

During an annual international conference held in the Slovenian city of Bled, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu corrected the mistake of the panel's presenter who said "Turkey" instead of "Türkiye" while introducing him.

Erdoğan, Raisi, Putin to meet for Syria summit

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi will meet in Tehran on July 19 for a Syria summit, the Kremlin announced.

"The president's visit to Tehran is being planned for July 19," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on July 12 adding that the trio would meet for Syrian peace talks.
