German naval mine retrieved in northern Greece
A German naval mine was retrieved from the seabed by a fishing boat off the coast of northern Greece Friday.
The captain of the boat took the mine to the port of Nea Michaniona and notified the local port authority.

Thessaloniki police investigate attack on two men by gang of four
Police in northern Greece were on Tuesday investigating an assault against two men, aged 39 and 47, on the street in the suburb of Nea Michaniona late on Monday by four attackers.
According to investigators, the two pedestrians came under attack by the four men who got out of a car and physically attacked them.
Body of woman who disappeared in rainstorm found off Halkidiki
The body of a woman who went missing in Nea Michaniona, near Thessaloniki, on September 7 during rainstorms that resulted in serious flooding in areas around the country was found in the Thermaic Gulf, 30 nautical miles from Poseidi in Halkidiki, authorities said on Monday.
Thessaloniki police raid turns up illegally acquired artifacts
A 67-year-old man was to face a Thessaloniki prosecutor on Wednesday following his arrest in the area of Nea Michaniona, near Thessaloniki, on charges of possessing illegally acquired artifacts.
A police raid on the suspects home turned up two clay amphorae which state archaeologists indicated were of significant value and subject to protection under Greek law.
