First confirmed case of Brazilian COVID-19 variant in Greece

The first confirmed case in Greece of the highly transmissible Brazilian variant of SARS-CoV-2, reportedly a man in Athens, was announced today by the National Public Health Organisation (EODY).

A "Variant of Concern" for scientists, P.1.2 (VOC-21JAN-02) has been dubbed the "Brazilian" variant.

Poll indicates third of Slovenians want to get vaccinated as soon as possible

Ljubljana – A third of respondents in the most recent Parsifal public opinion poll commissioned by Nova24TV have said they will get vaccinated for coronavirus as soon as possible.

The share is lower than in January, when 47% said they would get vaccinated at the earliest opportunity, but the most recent poll also shows that 20% of respondents had already been vaccinated.

Less than 10,000 teaching staff get immunised against COVID-19

Chairman of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Activities Committee (CNCAV) Valeriu Gheorgita said on Tuesday that less than 10,000 teaching staff have so far been immunised. "I think there were about 7,000 people, as far as I know. I am not able to give you the data from yesterday [Monday], but we are talking about less than 10,000 teaching staff vaccinated.
