Romania's COVID-19 death toll rises by 6 to 1,276
Six more people have died in Romania due to the novel coronavirus, bringing the country's total death toll to 1,276 deaths, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, announced on Monday afternoon. These are a 76-year-old woman and five men aged 64 to 83.

Third death in 24 hours takes Covid-19 toll to 178
A 70-year-old woman infected with the novel coronavirus died at the Greek capital's NIMTS navy hospital on Monday, bringing the country's death toll to 178.
The unnamed woman was the third victim of Covid-19 in less than 24 hours, following nearly three days without any casualties from the disease.

A number of 141 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been reported in Romania since the last information, bringing the total count to 19,398, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, announced on Monday at noon. Of the people confirmed positive, 13,426 have been declared cured and discharged.
Turkey lifts weekend curfew imposed in 15 provinces
Turkey lifted a two-day-long curfew early on June 1 that was imposed in some provinces as part of efforts to contain the novel coronavirus, which has killed more than 4,500 people in the country.
The curfew was in effect in 14 major provinces as well as Zonguldak province, where the prevalence of chronic respiratory diseases is high. Travel was also restricted in the provinces.

The latest victims are two women and three men, ages between 62 and 90, from Bucharest, Brasov, and the counties of Iasi and Ilfov; they all had underlying medical conditions.
Coronavirus genome sequenced in Istanbul
Turkish researchers have sequenced the genome of the novel coronavirus isolated from four patients, the head of the project said on May 29.
Dr. Sadrettin Pençe, the vice-rector of Istanbul Medeniyet University, told Anadolu Agency the genomes were sequenced using the latest sequencing platforms.
