Greece and the United States reaffirmed the enduring ties between the two countries in a call between Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and US Vice President Mike Pence on Thursday night, according to a White House readout of the Vice President's call to the Greek leader.

US First Lady Melania Trump is in hospital after having undergone a kidney surgery, reports AFP, quoted by FOCUS News Agency.

The first lady had a successful operation, White House Communication Director Stephanie Grishum said.

Melania Trump is expected to stay in the hospital until the end of the week.

U.S. Vice President Mike Pence held brief bilateral talks with the leaders of Mexico and Canada on April 14  about the state of play in their NAFTA renegotiations, saying he was "encouraged" by recent progress towards a deal.

The U.S. embassy in Israel will move to Jerusalem by the end of 2019, U.S. Vice President Mike Pence said on Monday, according to Reuters. 

"In the weeks ahead, our administration will advance its plan to open the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem - and that United States Embassy will open before the end of next year," Pence said in a speech to the Israeli parliament in Jerusalem.
