Russia will Provide Logistics for the Bulgarian MiG-29 until 2022

The Bulgarian Defense Ministry chose the Russian MiG Aircraft Corporation to provide the Air Force with the integrated logistics service for its 15 MiG-29 fighters for the next 48 months, Jane's 360 reports.

Bulgarian Defense Minister Krassimir Karakachanov signed the agreement on March 6 after talks with the Russian company ended on February 16th.

"Russian MiGs could be here in October - but will not fly"

Military analyst Aleksandar Radic says there are indications that the MiG-29 jets from Russia will arrive in October.

"Moscow says they will arrive - it means they will arrive. All the bureaucratic obstacles have been overcome, and I believe they will arrive in October," he told Novi Magazin, and added:

Six Mikoyan MiG-29 multipurpose fighter jets, which Russia has presented to Serbia as a gift, will arrive in the Balkan country 'within several days or several weeks,' Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said after a meeting with the Russian president.

The fighter jets will enter service in the Serbian Air Force until the end of 2017 after repairs, the Serbian premier said.
