142 Years Since the Liberation of Sofia
Today, the Bulgarian capital of Sofia celebrates the 142st anniversary of its liberation from Ottoman rule.
Sofia was liberated on 4 January 1878 by Russian general Gurko, who headed Russian and Finnish military forces and Bulgarian voluntary units known as opalchentsi.

Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev met with the representative of the manufacturer of the new fighter aircraft for the Bulgarian army in the Presidency in Sofia on October 7, BNT reported.
Extra EUR 1.07 Billion for the F-16 Planes Were Approved
The Bulgarian National Assembly has amended the 2019 state budget and increased the budget of the Ministry of Defense with EUR 1.07 billion. The amendment of the state budget aims to provide financing for the purchase of 8 new multi-role fighter jets for the Bulgarian armed forces.
