A volley of rockets targeting an airbase in Iraq's Kurdistan region killed a foreign civilian contractor and wounded five others, the U.S.-led coalition said.

The attack late on Feb. 15 was the first time in nearly two months that Western military or diplomatic installations have been targeted in Iraq, after a string of similar incidents.

The A-10 is being kept on one condition, though: it is no longer designated to fly over heavily defended battlefields

The Croatian Supreme Court announced on Wednesday that it has confirmed the verdict sentencing former Croatian Army soldier Josip Mrsic to three years in prison for committing war crimes against civilians during 1993 'Medak Pocket' operation in southern Croatia.

The construction of the Turkish-Russian joint monitoring center will be completed in two weeks, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said on Dec. 31. 

Tudjman's statement was a response to international pressure to amend a law that restricted the return of property to Serbs who had been expelled or fled the country after the Croatian military's Operation Storm in August that year.

A Turkish-Russian joint center to monitor and inspect the ongoing ceasefire agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia will be established in Agdam province of Azerbaijan, which was liberated by the former's army after a six-week-long war between the two rivals, the Turkish media reported.

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Dec. 10 his country could open its borders to Armenia, if Yerevan takes steps toward regional peace.

Speaking at a joint news conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev in Baku, Erdoğan said they had no issues with the Armenian people.

Turkey's Foreign Ministry on Dec. 8 condemned the detaining of a Turkish ship transporting medicine to Libya's port of Misrata by forces loyal to Libyan warlord Khalifa Haftar. 

Haftar's forces detained the vessel and its 17 crew members, including nine Turkish citizens, earlier in the day, claiming they did not comply with instructions. The vessel was also fined.

Bosnia and Herzegovina's border police on Saturday arrested Mladen Grujic, who is sought by neighbouring Croatia for war crimes committed against Croatian prisoners of war in its western Slavonia region during 1991.

Six Iraqi security personnel and three civilians were killed in an ambush Nov. 21 carried out by ISIL north of Baghdad, police and a local official said.    

A police source said a roadside bomb hit a car and jihadists opened fire on a rescue team of policemen and state-aligned paramilitary forces when they arrived at the scene, about 200 kilometers (120 miles) from the capital.
