High-level Turkish delegation pays visit to Libya

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak, Presidential Spokesperson İbrahim Kalın and National Intelligence Organization (MİT) chair Hakan Fidan visited Libya on June 17 for official meetings.

The delegation met with the U.N.-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj.

Eastern forces quit Libyan capital after year-long assault

Libya's internationally recognised government regained control of Tripoli on June 4, driving eastern forces out of the capital after a 14-month battle in which foreign powers poured in arms and fighters.

In the recaptured southern suburbs, bodies still lay on the ground and fighters brandished weapons abandoned by the eastern forces, a Reuters visual journalist said.

Turkey, Libya to proceed with Med drilling

The possibilityof hydrocarbon surveys throughout the region covered in the Turkey-Libya maritime border memorandum, both east and south of Crete, was raised again on Thursday by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan following a meeting with the leader of Libya's internationally recognized government, Fayez al-Sarraj, in Ankara.
