Today Bulgaria Will Host Three Seas Initiative Summit in Sofia

The Sixth Summit of the "Three Seas" Initiative will take place in Sofia in the next two days, July 8 and 9. The forum is hosted by Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev.

Yesterday he met with Beata Daszyńska-Muzyczka, Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Investment Fund on the "Three Seas" initiative.

Bulgarian Foreign Minister on Vatican Visit

Foreign Minister Svetlan Stoev received Tuesday Cardinal Marcello Semeraro of the Vatican to discuss with him bilateral relations and their activation in recent years, the Foreign Ministry said. 

Stoev welcomed the Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of  Saints to Bulgaria, underscoring the shared values based on
faith, humanism, justice and mercy.

Bulgarian President Radev Backs Proposal for EU-Russia Summit

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, who attended a two-day European Council meeting in Brussels, told Bulgarian journalists here on Friday that he supports a proposal by France and Germany for a summit between the EU and Russia. "I strongly supported and welcomed this initiative to update the strategy on EU-Russia relations," he noted.

President Radev Demands Probe into Incident during US Military Drills

"It is inadmissible to have the lives of Bulgarian citizens disturbed and put at risk by military formations, whether Bulgarian or belonging to a foreign army," said President Rumen Radev, talking to Minister of Defence Georgi Panayotov and Lieutenant General Lyubcho Todorov, Commander of the Joint Forces Command.

The men appeared to be connected with the far-right Bulgarian National Union party and Lukovmarch, an annual event in commemoration of WWII general Hristo Lukov, often criticised for providing a forum for neo-Nazis to gather.

Court Ruled All Arrests in Presidency Made Year Ago Are Unlawful

All arrests after the action in the presidency are unlawful.

This was decided by the Sofia Administrative Court, which upheld the decision of the Sofia District Court from November last year.

Among those arrested during the July 2020 operation was President's Security and Defense Adviser at the time Iliya Milushev.
