Dendias, Cavusoglu to discuss prospect of Mitsotakis-Erdogan summit

Turkish foreign minister Mevlet Cavusoglu has confirmed that he is to hold talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias on 14 April and said that the aim of the meeting is to lay the groundwork for a summit meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Dendias holds first phone call with Blinken

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias held his first phone call earlier on Monday with US State Secretary Anthony Blinken, the foreign ministry said.

The two officials discussed bilateral relations and ways of further enhancing the strategic cooperation between the two countries, with an emphasis on energy and defence.

Dendias, Maas speak ahead of FAC meeting

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias on Monday held a telephone call with his German counterpart Heiko Maas in view of the upcoming Foreign Affairs Council which is responsible for the EU's external action.

In a tweet, Dendias said the conversation focused on recent regional developments.

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias has congratulated veteran diplomat Antony Blinken on his confirmation Tuesday as US Secretary of State.

"I look forward to working together to further strengthen the robust Greece-US partnership, to promote peace and stability in the broader region and to enhance the transatlantic bond founded on shared values," Dendias tweeted.

Parliamentary debate on territorial waters extension given extra day

A debate in Parliament on a Foreign Ministry bill extending Greece's territorial waters in the Ionian Sea was granted an additional day, with the vote now expected on Wednesday instead of Tuesday.

According to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, the discussion was extended to two days from one to give lawmakers wishing to present their position on the issue ample time to do so.
