Top officials from Turkey and Sweden in fresh attempt to overcome NATO membership concerns

Senior officials from Sweden and Turkey arrived at NATO headquarters Thursday to examine Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's objections to the Nordic country joining the military alliance and to see what more, if anything, could be done to break the deadlock.

Fidan congratulates Gerapetritis for his appointment as FM

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan congratulated Greek counterpart Giorgos Gerapetritis on assuming his duties, in a phone call on Wednesday, the Foreign Ministry said on a pos on Twitter.

The ministers had a discussion and agreed to meet on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Vilnius, it added.

Bulgaria: Deputy PM Mariya Gabriel accepted the post of Foreign Minister from Ivan Kondov

At a ceremony this morning, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel accepted the position in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the Acting Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov.

The Minister of the Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev announced that a representative of the Bulgarian Ministry of the Interior will be admitted by the authorities in the Republic of South Africa to the investigation into the case of the wanted by Interpol Krasimir Kamenov - Karo, who was killed yesterday along with three other people in Cape Town.
