The Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, stated that the position of public healthcare doctors is becoming more attractive

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Wednesday made targeted interventions in the composition of his government to enhance, as a senior official said, "its effectiveness."

More specifically, the decision to replace the political leadership of the Ministry of Citizen Protection, both minister and deputy minister, were made to bolster the conservative administration's security agenda.

Government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis has urged New Democracy MPs to support a government amendment aimed at granting work permits to approximately 30,000 irregular migrants. However, he clarified that party discipline will not be a point of contention with former prime minister Antonis Samaras, who has voiced disagreement with the amendment.

New Democracy lawmaker Zoi Rapti on Wednesday recused herself from the parliamentary committee of inquiry on the fatal railway collision in Tempe, central Greece in February, after relatives of the victims filed a criminal action against her.

The prosecutor's office has terminated the pre-trial proceedings initiated for possible violations surrounding the purchase of rapid antigen tests for COVID-19 for students when Stoycho Katsarov was Minister of Health. He headed the Ministry of Health in 2021 in the two caretaker governments with Prime Minister Stefan Yanev.

"The new measures will be announced in a day or two because it is very important to limit the spread of the virus", the director of the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, Prof. Iva Hristova, announced on Bulgaria On Air.

The Minister of Health, Thanos Plevris spoke about the increase of the covid cases in the country and whether the epidemiological situation is beyond the control of the health authorities.
