The Ministry of National Defence celebrated by a military ceremony the NATO Day in Romania on Sunday, and also declared a Doors Open Day.

Defence Minister Mircea Dusa, Romanian Army Chief of Staff General Nicolae Ciuca and other officials of the ministry attended the event.
Topics referring to the security situation in Ukraine, to the bilateral cooperation within the anti-missile shield of Deveselu, as well as Romania's commitment in the Afghani theater of operations were discussed on Friday during a meeting between the Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, and a delegation of the US Congress.

The analysis of the activity of the National Defence Ministry (MApN) in 2014 is marked firstly by the change of the security environment in the extended region of the Black Sea, as well as by the growth of instability in the Alliance's southern vicinity, in the Middle East towards Northern Africa, Defence minister Mircea Dusa said on Tuesday at the institution's stocktaking report meeting.
Defence Minister Mircea Dusa on Tuesday at the headquarters of the MApN [Ministry of National Defence] had a meeting with the Lithuanian Ambassador in Bucharest, Arvydas Pocius, on which occasion they talked about the security on the NATO's eastern flank and the bilateral cooperation in the defence field.
