Drecun: "They are preparing for the occupation. It's all Kurti's plan"

The President of the Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, Milovan Drecun, assessed that the initiative to open the bridge on the Ibar is part of the preparations for occupying the north of Kosovo.

BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said on Friday Pristina's PM Albin Kurti wanted to openly provoke war and expel Serbs from Kosovo-Metohija and that an occupation by Kurti and Erden Atic, the so-called mayor of the north of Kosovska Mitrovica, had begun.

The newly elected mayor of the Kosovo-Serb majority municipality of North Mitrovica took his oath of office on Friday in a tense atmosphere following extraordinary local elections a month ago that most local Serbs shunned. 

Erden Atic is a member of the ruling Vetvendosje party, which has few members in the town.

"What happened was the defeat of Kurti and his regime. What happened was more than that, yesterday the Serbian people showed that they are looking for a different approach from the international community, above all from the Western powers, that they are looking for greater respect, dialogue, and not imposition of the solutions," said Vui.

Just to recall that 1,566 Albanians and 13 Serbs took part in the special elections in four municipalities in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, said the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovi. Petkovi specified that in the north of Kosovska Mitrovica, two persons of Serbian nationality voted, seven in Leposavic, four in Zvean, and none in Zubin Potok.
