Two government ministers resign

Two ministers have resigned from the government.

Minister of State Stavros Papastavrou and Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister Yiannis Bratakos submitted their resignations to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The prime minister thanked them for their cooperation and accepted their resignations, a statement from his office said.

Washington trip called off due to ND conference

The planned visit to Washington next week by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to attend the annual event commemorating the Greek Revolution has been canceled as it coincides with the conference of ruling New Democracy. 

Mitsotakis was to travel to the US on April 4 to attend the White House event where he was to also have a meeting with President Joe Biden. 

Mitsotakis, Trudeau hail Greek-Canadian relations in joint statement

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau in Montreal on Sunday and attended the signing of an agreement for Greece's purchase of seven new state-of-the art firefighting aircraft (DHC-515).

Mitsotakis, on Canadian TV, touts ‘rather impressive’ economic comeback

Prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis told a Canadian TV host Sunday that Greece is open for business.

Mitsotakis, the first Greek prime minister to visit Canada in more than 40 years, sat down with CTV's Question Period host Vassy Kapelos in Montreal for an exclusive interview airing Sunday, during his visit to Canada over the weekend.

Minimum wage to rise to €830

The government has decided to raise the minimum wage to around 830 euros gross and €705 net as of April 1. Labor Minister Domna Michailidou submitted her proposal to the cabinet secretariat on Friday, with the final decision to be announced next Wednesday by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
