An accident left five districts of Sofia without hot water and heating.

Musagenitsa, Darvenitsa, Mladost 1, Studentski grad and Malinova dolina are affected, it is clear from a reference on the website of Toplofikacia Sofia.

Elevated levels of fine particulate matter have been registered in Sofia, airsofia.info reported. According to the map, the air is polluted in almost the entire city. 

Most polluted residential areas are Knyazhevo, Gorna Banya, Karpuzitsa, Boyana, Ovcha Kupel, Studentski grad, Krasna Polyana and parts of Mladost 2.

The police arrested a 21-year-old man suspected of killing a woman in the Mladost district in Sofia, the Interior Ministry said.

He was captured on Thursday morning in the train Sofia - Varna, at Gorna Oryahovitsa station. Pre-trial proceedings are ongoing.

The Specialised Court on 15th of April sentenced the former mayor of the metropolitan area "Mladost", Desislava Ivancheva, to 20 years in prison and a fine of 10,000 BGN and deprivation of the right to take a public post. Her deputy Bilyana Petrova was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment and a fine of 15,000 BGN.

The Metropolitan District Heating Company plans repairs in the summer, because of which thousands of customers will be left without hot water.

TPP "Sofia" will be stopped entirely from 20th to 29th of August. Without hot water during the period will be the customers who live in the center of Sofia, became clear from the information of the company.

Today the prosecutor's office will give details of the detention of the mayor of the Sofia district Mladost, Desislava Ivancheva and her deputy Biliana Petrova.

"Together against the bad air!" is an initiative of citizens from Krasna Polyana.

"I have no problem with the district mayor of Mladost. All investors and builders who have put their money in the area have a problem with it."

Residents of the Mladost quarter of Sofia protest because of lack of lighting in front of their resident building.
