‘Appodixi’ whistleblowers not getting paid

Taxpayers may prove to be the best allies of the Independent Authority of Public Revenue (AADE) in curbing tax evasion, but those who have so far scanned receipts through the Appodixi app on their cellphones and pinpointed tax evasion are not going to get a cash prize, as the draft law does not include a retroactive effect to the measure.

Apple to launch app dedicated to classical music

Apple on March 9 said it will start streaming classical music from a stand-alone app on March 28 as it seeks to distinguish itself from rivals Spotify and specialist platforms.

The iPhone giant said Apple Music Classical will offer "the world's largest classical music catalog," with exclusive albums and an advanced search functionality not seen on other apps.

Visitİzmir available online

A mobile tourism app, Visitİzmir, covering 30 districts, 11 categories, and 2,300 locations in the western province of İzmir, is now accessible to the public.

İzmir Mayor and İzmir Foundation President Tunç Soyer said the aim of the app, realized with the "Another Tourism is Possible" goal, is to holistically raise the prosperity levels of both the city and urban areas of the city.

Smartphones gaining ground in Greece

Greeks spent over 4.6 billion hours scrolling on their smartphones last year, according to a survey by cellphone data analysis company App Annie.

That amount, which reveals just how much smartphones have become a part of everyday life, is actually estimated to be even bigger as the figures by the US company do not include the data used by the iOS appliances - i.e. iPhones.

Greeks can now get official docs on their phones

A new app allows citizens to access electronic documents using the state's open data platform. 

More specifically, the online platform of the Greek government (gov.gr) can now be accessed on tablets and smartphones with gov.App, which helps citizens to get hold of documents ranging from simple authorizations to registration deeds, facilitating transactions with the state.
