Daily life without having to send an sms to state authorities in order to leave one's home has returned. But who was actually using the system? Who was heeding public health restrictions that were abolished in practice before they were officially eliminated?

Ljubljana – The Agency for Communication Networks and Services (AKOS) concluded on Friday a wireless spectrum auction as part of which it also offered frequency bands for 5G mobile networks. It has fetched EUR 164.2 million as all four bidders – A1 Slovenija, Telekom Slovenije, Telemach and T-2 – have been awarded frequency bands.

Spectrum in the 700 MHz, 1500 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, 3600 MHz and 26 GHz bands is available. A portion of the 700 MHz, 3600 MHz and 26 GHz bands is dedicated to 5G.

In the Balkans, Slovenia is ahead of the rest, with Telekom, the country's leading provider of ICT services, having already launched the first 5G mobile network in July this year. Slovenia is now one of 18 of the European Union's 27 members with a 5G commercial network.
