Europe rolls out ‘new weapon’ vaccines in bid to slay COVID

Europe launched a mass COVID-19 vaccination drive on Sunday with pensioners and medics lining up to get the first shots to see off a pandemic that has crippled economies and claimed more than 1.7 million lives worldwide.

The U.S. added a second COVID-19 vaccine to its arsenal on Dec. 18, boosting efforts to beat back an outbreak so dire that the nation is regularly recording more than 3,000 deaths a day.
