Tourism Minister Expects 1.5 Million Russians to Visit Bulgaria in 2016

Bulgaria has the capacity to welcome one and a half million Russian tourists next summer.

This was stated by Bulgarian Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova in an interview for private NOVA TV on Sunday.

Angelkova's words were based on a statement of the executive chairman of the Ural Association of Tourism Mikhail Maltsev.

Exit Polls Suggest Bulgaria's Varna, Kardzhali, Blagoevgrad Reelect Incumbent Mayors

The exit polls of Alpha Research polling agency suggest that the cities of Varna, Kardzhali and Blagoevgrad have reelected their incumbent mayors at the local elections held in Bulgaria on Sunday.

According to the exit polls as of 18 o'clock EET, Ivan Portnih, the incumbent mayor of Varna and candidate of the largest ruling party GERB, won the elections with 57.9 % of the votes.

Roma Who Built Illegally in Bulgaria's Varna 'Can't Have Housing'

Roma residents who erected illegally dozens of homes in a Varna ghetto have no right to be provided with social housing, a regional mayor has said.

Authorities began on Thursday demolishing part of 60 dwellings which are to be bulldozed after having sheltered hundreds of Roma people for years.

The Bulgarian Commission on Consumer Protection will be launching mass inspections of clubs along the seaside resorts.

Most prominently, the commission's officers will be checking if the quality of the offered alcoholic beverages is proper.

Another important issue will be if resort clubs offer the necessary accommodations for people with disabilities.
