A Bucharest court on Wednesday placed Moldovan businessman Sergiu Lucinschi in custody for two months after he was arrested on charges of blackmail and influence peddling.

Sergiu Lucinschi, who also holds Romanian citizenship, is the youngest son of Petru Lucinschi, President of Moldova from 1997 to 2001.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu, shows in a message, on the occasion of the anniversary of 97 years since the Union of Basarabia and Romania on March 27, that Romania stands beside the Republic of Moldova "in the effort to construct the common European future".

The Moldovan minister of Foreign Affairs, deputy premier Natalia Gherman said she is absolutely certain that the projects for the Republic of Moldova's getting European and modern will be voted by all the political parties as soon as they will be tabled in the Chisinau Parliament.
