DUBAI - Serbia's water polo team reached the final of the World League tournament in Dubai on Friday beating Australia 12:5 (2:1, 5:2, 2:0, 3:2).

Defending champion Serbia will next take on world champion Hungary that outlasted Montenegro 10:8.

The final is scheduled for Saturday 16:30 CET.

Top officials meet, discuss "situation in MUP"

BELGRADE -- Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić and Interior Minister Nebojša Stefanović met on Friday morning with President Tomislav Nikolić, B92 has learned.

For an hour and a half, they discussed "the situation" in the MUP - Serbia's Interior Ministry and police.

Montenegro could be next EU member - German ambassador

PODGORICA -- Outgoing German Ambassador in Podgorica Pius Fischer says Montenegro could be the next member of the European Union.

He explained that the country had made "significant progress in this direction."

BELGRADE - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has invested around EUR 300 million in the Serbian agribusiness sector, and is ready to continue to fund all good projects and companies in this sector that are not over-indebted, the head of the EBRD's Agribusiness Sector Gilles Mettetal said on Thursday.

BRUSSELS - The European Commission on Wednesday unveiled an action plan of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative (AII) that hands Serbia a major role and includes a phased reconstruction of the railway line from Belgrade to Bar.

Đukanović "to step down, when circumstances normalize"

PODGORICA -- Milo Đukanović has been quoted as saying that he is at the helm of Montenegro's government "against his will and affinities."

Furthermore, he said he "hoped" to withdraw from this position "after circumstances in the country normalize."

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic talked on Wednesday with Igor Luksic, Montenegro's deputy prime minister and foreign minister, about improvement in bilateral cooperation, especially on infrastructure projects.

BELGRADE - Montenegro's Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic said on Tuesday the accusations from the Belgrade press that he intended to place the Serbian media under his control were not directed against him, but against Serbia's Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, and Vucic responded that the Serbian government was stronger than those who wished to topple it.

PM: Montenegrin counterpart "not far from truth"

BELGRADE -- PM Aleksandar Vučić has thanked his Montenegrin counterpart for the concern he showed, adding that "the state is stronger than those who would destroy it."

Milo Đukanović on Thursday "warned Vučić that the 'handwriting' of certain articles in the Belgrade press is very similar to that from 2003."

Montenegro’s parliament is to debate a law on the status of NATO forces in an emergency plenary session this week, starting June 18.
