What Is The Occupancy Rate In Bulgarian Hotels In December 2023?

In December 2023, there were 2,229 establishments in the country, such as hotels, motels, campgrounds, mountain huts, and other short-term accommodation options. They had a total of 63.6 thousand rooms and 132.0 thousand beds. Compared to the same month of the previous year, the number of such establishments increased by 0.2%, while the number of beds in them increased by 3.0%.

Turkey has introduced a Tourist Tax

A tourist tax has been introduced in Turkey since January 1. Guests of the country will pay 2% extra for accommodation in hotels, tourist villages, motels, boarding houses, as well as for tours organized by travel agencies.

Employees of diplomatic missions and international organizations with diplomatic status are exempt from tourist tax.

Revenues from Short-term Accommodation Increased in Bulgaria in December 2015

According to the latest figures of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) released on Wednesday, the revenues generated from nights spent at places of short-term accommodation amounted to BGN 36.2 M in December last year.

This represented an increase of 2.9 % compared to the same month in the previous year.

Overnight Stays in Bulgarian Hotels Rise 3.7% Y/Y in October

The number of overnight stays in Bulgarian hotels and other accommodation facilities rose by 3.7% on the year in October, reaching 727,800, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Thursday.

In October, 71.1% of all overnight stays offoreign citizens and 31.6% of all overnights spent by Bulgarian citizens were registered infour- and five-star hotels.
